Why do this course?
Every step in this course is built on current, peer-reviewed understanding of canine stress physiology and welfare science. Nothing here is guesswork or old fashioned dominance thinking. It's an up-to-date, evidence based approach to giving dogs what they genuinely need: a nervous system that feels safe, a guardian they trust, and a life they're able to actually enjoy, not just cope with.

"Sally's knowledge, passion and supportive teaching style made learning engaging and enjoyable. The course was well structured, practical and gave me the confidence to develop my skills and put everything I'd learned into practice. Sally also made the marketing side feel simple and achievable, which has been invaluable.."

When, How and Whether to Walk Your Dog
The Basis of Homeostasis and Regulation
Applying training to stress related behaviour without decompressing first is like papering over the cracks of your dog's wellbeing.
Just like we need to feel safe before we can learn, so do our dogs.
This course will help you build a safe and confident dog from the foundations upwards. Then show you how easy it is to train them from that space.

A Better Understanding
Decompression is a nervous-system need that applies whenever a dog's stress load outpaces their ability to recover: which can simply be the relentless pace of modern life.
This course shows you have everything in your dog's life can affect their internal state, which dictates how they behave. We look at food, pain, health, trauma, scentwork and so much more all to help our dogs have the best possible life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this course for rescue dogs only?
No. Decompression applies to any dog whose nervous system is under more stress than it can recover from, new puppies, dogs recovering from illness or a house move, or long-settled dogs who've simply never had the chance to fully decompress.
My dog already knows basic training. Is this still relevant?
Yes. Decompression isn't about obedience, it's about nervous-system regulation. A dog can be well trained and still be carrying more stress than they can process. This course helps you spot that and address it directly.
Can canine professionals use this with their own clients?
Yes. Trainers, behaviourists, and other dog professionals are welcome to join and use the decompression process directly with clients whose dogs aren't yet ready for a training plan.
